I loved this poem, it is written so beautifully, you certainly have a way with words, I really enjoyed the angle you took with it, the image suits the poem perfectly. I keep reading it over and over, you have a wonderful writing style. And it was a great message within. Well done and nest of luck with the competition

You did a nice job leading the reader in one direction for the first half of the poem and then changing and giving us a lovely surprise twist of direction. My favorite part:
Unsure of her fate, she falls hard
piercing the pale, empty paper
with her bold point indigo pen
clenched within her willing fingers
splashing emotions like water
all over her clean, virgin slate.
Good luck in the contest

What a splendid poem, with that twist at the end, there are some that are presenting prose as being poetry, but this is a definite yay, beautifully written Jody Ann, well done, blessings Roy

Oh I loved this. You capture the fear and trepidation poets have as they try to put thoughts into lyrical lines that touch the mind and heart of readers. I loved how you used rock climbing as a metaphor for the fear of putting words to paper. Wonderful poem.

This makes me think of my own writing journey. Tough to start, but once I start I'll be writing for hours, not thinking any aything else. I really liked the twist at the end. Well done!

I thought this was so enjoyable. Maybe it's me but I felt this was about writing. Your imagery is perfect. For me the poet was an angelic figure navigating jagged rocks. For me that feels like the challenges and fears we get as writers. Your poem for me is a tribute to the courage required to turn our writing into art. Great job!
