There's something of the anticipation of the moment in this poem, there's the uncertainty of watching the moment coming, the excitement of being caught in its mysterious beat. I liked the pulsing rhythm of this, the stripped down, hammering pulse of the language. estory

This is a well-written five line poem. A bit sinister, but what has to be said, has to be said. The poem builds tension ending in the shadowy man... for a brisk staccato beat. All the best for the contest.

This is an excellent five line poem. It is a little eerie. I don't like these birds hanging around. I'm not superstitious but they give me the creeps. One sat on my Mom four floor window at the hospital all day the day she died.
