I guess your bother's implants turned out well. The doctor I had was from India. It seems a lot of the dentists and doctors ar from an oriental country.

The implants were done by an Aussie dentist,

Oh Beth, I do feel for you. That is skulduggery! They should have told you about the whole procedure and the possible complications straight up.It was dishonesty by what they neglected to say. I guess it is summer for you at least, and you can have lots of ice-cream!
Well written rant - very best wishes for the contest.

Thank you Wendy. I hope all I went though will work out okay and in six months I can feel differently about it. Time will tell. Thanks for the nice review.

AARRGH! Beth, that is NOT like you to make this kind of decision without researching. I could have told you that implants could take years. It would have been for me. I have osteoporosis and the dentist I consulted with told me that he didn't want me to take any of the drugs for bone building as that would interfere with the process. But then he said, he would have to harvest bone from other parts of my jaw and I'd have to grow the bone first before he could do the implant procedure. No dentist can guarantee that kind of whole mouth process in a day. I'll be praying for healing for your mouth. That sounds so painful. Please get enough rest and enough nutrients. Maybe some Ensure drinks? ð???ð???

I knew if I dug into it, I would talk myself out of it, and for some reason I didn't want to, so if it doesn't go well it is my fault. Dentists here claim bottom dentures don't stay in well. They want to leave at least one tooth so they can hook a partial to it. My dad begged the dentist to remove all his bottom teeth, but he refused and left one tooth. Daddy hated having a partial. I didn't want another partial either. They are uncomfortable. Thanks for caring and continuing to pray.

Wow! That's a terrible experience. Aren't they required to disclose the procedure in detail, especially since there are phases that you were unaware of? Too bad you paid up front. You might have had some leverage if you didn't.

Thank you for the review and comments. It definitely wasn't a pleasant experience. I could have asked more question. They gave me a pamplet to read but they definitely didn't tell me I'm have to sign off on so many possible things that could happen. I can see they needed money up front to have the temp ready when I came in. I hadn't expected they need all of it up front.

... and if my memory serves me right, you did get married young, right?
I had problems with teeth early on too. When I got to Boot Camp at 17 the Navy surgeon said my molars had curved roots and needed extractions. San Diego was where the USN had their dental school, and to this day no other dentist confirmed roots can curve. Was I a guinea Pig?
Sorry for your discomfort. Hope you are satisfied.

Thank you Tom. I did marry at 18 but he didn't check my teeth first. I don't totally trust anyone in the medical profession. Actually I don't totally trust anyone. LOL No human is infallible.

Beth. For all your good intents, you've been lead down the dark path.
I hear these ads on the radio everyday, exactly how you wrote it ... complete in four hours, a brand new smile. Unfortunately they leave out the fine print.
I hope all goes well with your process...

Thank you John, I'm sure you are right. If nothing goes wrong and everything works well in six to eight months I might be okay with it but I know I was mislead.

You nailed it with that last paragraph: they keep you mostly in the dark until you're in the throes of their project and it's too late to back out. I'm ROOTING for you (like what I did there, Beth?) I hope everything turns out AOK iin every possible way here. Please keep us current!! xo

Can not believe every snake oil, con artist's advertisement one sees out there.
If something is "too good to be true," like the old saying goes, better believe it is.
"Pay up front" is usually the surest tip off to the rip off.
But, was the lesson learned?
Perhaps all will end well. Time alone will tell that story.

Thank Ulla. I appreciate the review. Since you found something to smile about, I'll tell you something I left out. The pants I wore that day seemed to fit fine when I went in but when I got up from the chair the waist gave way and my pants dropped to my knees. My daughter had great chuckle over that. I should have been enbarrassed but at that point it was just another aggrivation. lol

Hahaha, I can just visualise it. I love it!!!

Wow, Beth, what an experience!! I can't imagine what all you went through, and the series of half bits of information.
Now, I do understand the pain because of the head and jaw issues/multiple surgeries, etc, I got after getting head kicked by a bull.
At the time, they had to pull 2 of my bottom from teeth because of the crack in my jaw. Without telling me, they grafted bone, from who the heck knows where, to build the area up for implants. After months of messing with my mouth, I refused to go back in for yet more surgery. After hearing your story, I'm ever so glad I didn't have the implants.
I'm so sorry you went through it, but you seem to have done so with your usual sense of humor intact. I laughed at what your dentist said when you were a kid.
Thanks for sharing your rant!!!

My daughter said I left out the funny part of the story. The pants which seemed fo fit fine when I put them on that morning seemed to have loosed up while I was in the chair. They fell to my knees when I stood up. I really appreciate the review.

Okay, I agree with your daughter. That was the best part, lol, at least in retrospect!
