Thank God it turned out as it did. Domestic abuse calls are among the most dangerous for the police, often turning deadly from the unpredictable actions of the participants. Often if there is a mentally disturbed person whos actions appear to be threatening in any way, the police often react by shooting the individual.

I'm so sorry to hear this, Mary. I'm already aware that Huntington's can be a very cruel condition, especially for the carer and it's hardly surprising that you're finding sleep difficult because you're constantly on the alert. To find two police officers on your doorstep can only add to that sense of anxiety, especially when you're not initially believed. Thanks for reading your well written and engaging story. Having a husband who is going through this kind of experience has to be very stressful for you. I don't know anoything about Huntington's disease but is has to very stressful for everyone envolved. I can't understnad why you couldn''t get real rest even when you take naps. One never know what physical problem they might be faced. I pray there will be more goiod day than bad in your future. Thank for sharing.

Just hit me hard as I know that illnesses can be difficult on everybody. I do not have hunting things but I do have chronic autoimmune disease and we get stuff every single day. I wish you and your husband the best.

Thank you Pearl I appreciate your review and words. This diagnosis came out of left field. I found out that his Dad had the same symptoms last week with visiting family. His dad died 6 years ago.

It is progressing as far as the change in his personality. He gets angry easily. A complete change in his personality. He has short term memory loss, incontinance and he still is fixated on the news and keeps trying to wake me up early to hear the headlines. I keep him walking and with PS 2 x a week. The doctor has him on Austedo but it has been difficult getting the drug until today. It looks like the bureaucracy between the pharmacy, the doctor and the insurance company has cleared and he will be getting it without further interruption.

I hope the medication helps. Have they used any other drugs? Please don't take this on all yourself. When my dad died, my mom's symptoms of dementia disappeared. She was his main caregiver and was so exhausted that she was put on the same Alzheimer's drugs that the doctor put Dad on. Please take care of yourself. 💖🙏🙏
