I can quickly identify with this as recounted in my autobiography: "Besides," Blado had said, "you are the one always thinking up the games, the plot of our Cowboy and Indians, cops and robbers, pirates, and the alien invasions. I'm like, just tryin' ta keep up." we did not go after the Indians or blame the Indians for anything because our mother hereditary blood from Cree tribe. So we had only respect.for the Native American. We were just chatting about the timber Rattler in Vermont. There's more of them down in the southern part of Vermont where I live but I have not to my knowledge ever seen one. Eeek...rattle rattle

Wish I had a six just for those names you conjured up. I remember and have stories in my head about all of them. I'm so glad there is someone else on this earth who remembers Tom Terrific and Manfred The Wonder Dog, my favorite when I was four years old. Do you remember Colonel Bleep? Molly Moo Cow? Willy Whopper? I better stop.

Tou did well when naming these programs. I raised my kids up with these guys and they were very entertaining. Captain Marvel should fit somewhere in the group. Shazam! Good one, Wayne

Thank you. Yes, he should. Who was his sidekick?

This is a very well written post with great excitement in it. I would have surely freaked out if I had come face to face with that snake. Very good ending to this. Blade went from being a sidekick to a hero! Thanks for sharing. Teri

This is a fun premise for a story. The timber rattlesnake was a new reference for me. So Blado wants to be support staff/sidekick duty. It sounds like he has even studied/listed them all in his mind. I had to go look up Froggy with Gene Autry, since I haven't seen enough of his movies to know that. I guess that was Smiley Burnette who played that role. Now I wanna go look up the Hardy boys in the books again. I always thought they said there were 'two' or a 'few' years difference in the ages. I am curious where the name Ohmie came from.

I thought this was well done. Your writing so enjoyable. You seem to effortlessly transport us into the world of childhood imagination and friendship. The dialogue between Ohmie and Blado feels authentic and engaging. It is filled with humor and warmth that is so touching.
