Artfully composed. I really like how you handle free verse, there is a great sense of drama in the breaks between stanzas, and the images are fantastic here. "Genius sharp enough to pierce the veil of time." I like how that captures the fact that Einstein was ahead of his time. "The world, once perceived, has shifted" this sense of Einstein's theories rearranging our interpretation of experience. The opening catches our attention right away: "I ponder the echoes of brilliant words." We get that sense of excitement at reading Einstein's theories. Not many can handle subjects like this with such aplomb. estory

I agree with your poem. To me curious is natural, adults and children have it. It is good to some and harmful to others.
In this case, wanting to extend you knowledge on a particular thing, to me is wanting to learn more about it.
Where would we be without people, like Albert Einstein, who took a chance to gained more knowledge so we can move on as a human race.

Good luck with your poem and your interest in science.

Thanks for bringing up the spiritual side of Einstein. He must have sensed the fingerprint of God in all the amazing Creation. And God certainly had gifted him (and his first wife - credited with some of his ideas) Best wishes in the contest!

In my opinion, this is a brilliant work that seeks to explain how Einstein insights into the universe has touched the writer. The poem flows so well that the reader is lead from one verse to the next. Each word has deep meaning. The structure is perfect for this work. A wonderful job.

This is very well written, and it's kind of like an ode to a very intelligent scientist. I enjoyed very much listening to it. I have one little story that I'll share with you. My father-in-law was a postal worker in California and he had to hand-deliver a letter to Albert Einstein when Albert Einstein was visiting California. Pat.

What a great subject for this contest, Jess! You've captured your admiration for this genius well in your free verse (the final stanza is the winner for me) and complemented it with a lovely visual and notes worthy of a post in their own right. Thank you for sharing this and good luck! Debbie

This poem was beautiful. Wonderful word choices. My favorite was "echoes of brilliant words" and a "universe told upon conception". For me that shows that he has infinite potential. What a nice poem about him. I enjoyed it.

I am more of a "freestyle' type poet. I love how not only you can write this style but also do it so amazing and articulately. True talent. Very deep and pondering

I'm afraid the mysteries uncovered by science are only on small blip in the mind of God, therefore I'd rather pore over His incredibly majestic mind, knowing Him is the source of all wisdom and knowledge, because He is science, its master and its creator. That would reveal everything there is to know. Beautifully written, you could teach the prose 'poetry' writers a thing or two. Beautifully written, blessings Roy
