It's one thing to run through items in the store but it's not everyone who is up to the challenge of making them rhyme !

Of course we don't have Walmart here, but many stores like it, that sell an incredible assortment of stuff, some of it is generally useless, serves and a yen will fit for a short time, and then discarded, well done, blessings Roy

What I like about this type of poetry is that it elevates the trivial into something almost romantic, and also celebrates the music of everyday life. Listing all these things we need in our life kind of paints a caricature of our society, with its needs and wants and obsession with consumerism and convenience. But there is also an uplifting quality to it. There is a sense that just like the Joshua trees in the desert, life finds a way to poke out of the sand and find a reason to celebrate itself. estory

An excellent entry for the Things You See At Walmart contest. I don't think you missed anything on that list lol I used to try to take a list with me to Walmart but I gave up on that years ago. Once I go through those doors I forget everything that I came for and am emersed in the wonder of cheap, useless garbage that for some reason i can't live without. lol Good job.

You are right. But it's a shame how many mom-and-pop shops and small businesses Walmart has ruined. Sure, people can save money and time, but it's at the expense of whole rural as well as urban cultures.

This is great because most of the entries were about the drama at Walmart instead of it's virtues. Some folks need to feed themselves and their families and can't afford to shop at Whole Foods or Wegmans. Walmart has delivery now which is wonderful. Thank you for sharing from a grateful heart.
