I love your imagination Wayne, how fun! A Science Fiction writer's big hurrah. A chance for their pretend creation to become a reality.
Your writing was engaging and well expressed. Even in a short work, your characters took form.
Best of luck in the contest,
Rhonda

Looks like I know who the "winner take all " will be. I hope you do more stories of this type, masking reference to your past writings and characters, to entertain us once more. Good story!

I had no idea what cabbage patch meant. (You should have seen what my mind was picturing!) I enjoyed this story. You and Ohmie saved the day! I like the mix of reality and fiction. Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.

This was funny. I enjoyed your sci-fi short story. It was hard for me to follow in places because at first I thought when you wrote osprey you meant a bird, and I don't know what a ditty bag is, or a cabbage patch. Between the jargon and the sci-fi made up stuff, it took some real brain work to follow along, but it was a fun read nevertheless.

Wow, what an action-packed and imaginative story! From the moment the Osprey lands in the backyard to the urgent mission briefing at the White House you've created a gripping story that was filled with tension.
The characters, especially Wayne and Debbie are so well portrayed. Their reactions to the sudden turn of events feel authentic. The dialogue is sharp and engaging, driving the plot forward and revealing crucial information about the threat from the Eullalas. I was on the edge of my seat throughout.
