Aw Beth, your mother must have had loads of stories to tell her friends about you. You were so funny! I also think God has a sense of humour too, he must get lots of funny requests from children. Yours, though, must have been among the funniest. This deserves a six, and I'm really sorry I don't have one left. I had to laugh when you mention Pinocchio, and why wouldn't a child believe he could do the same to hers. Loved this one, Beth. Warmest hugs, Sandra xxx

Thank you Sandra. I sure God laughed about my request. He knew I'd probably give a sisiter a really hard time if I did get one.

Your family stories get better and better, making me wish I had an unlimited supply of stars. My mom told me she bought me at the store, and I believed her throughout my childhood years, till I found out the way most kids do. Some of my earliest memories are of following my grandmother to church, and my mom taking me on Sundays. It's good tht both of us have such memories to guide us.

Thank you Jim. I really really enjoy reading your reviews. I'm glad I had a Christian mother who told me about God when I was young

My parents were believers but I had to go my own way before I found out it was God, not my ego, in charge.

I really enjoy your stories. Yes we should be careful what we ask of God, and exactly how we teach them about praying. Kids are so literal. Very enjoyable read.

Thank you so much Wendy, At least not getting the what I wanted from God didn't destroy my faith. I did learn he does what is best even though we often make mistakes with our requests.

I think one of the things that stand out to me are that you were very precocious, you certainly were looking for those unlikely miracles, if they had come true that would have them going, beautifully written dear Beth, thanks fo sharing well done, blessings Roy

Thank you Roy. I was a little misinformed as to what I should be asking God to do. He must have smiled at my request and blessed me anyway.

Well done.
Perfect reasoning, sending a letter to God.
This is another well-written piece. Great work.
So you suspect that visiting to your aunt's church was NOT about a free lunch?
Best wishes.

AS always, I love to read your stories and smile at your childhood memories. Your imagination was in tip-top working condition and I am sure your Mom always had to be on her toes for what you might get into next. I enjoyed the story.

I enjoyed your cute story of your childhood Beth and it sounds like you put your Mum to shame here, ha ha ha. I do hope your wish came true and you did have a sibling after all. A fun tale, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

Thank you Dolly. No I never did have tha sibling but I eventually decided it was just as well. I would have probably made life hard for on if I had gotten a sibling.

What a charming recollection! I wish I'd been that creative as a child!
You channeled that inner voice right into this and I delighted in your child's eye view of the world.
Kids are great at magical thinking...
It's hard when parents can't make those wishes come true!

Thank you Karenina. By remembering all this about the past, I thinking I starting to understand some things about myself that have carried over into my later life.

I find the same thing. As I look back on long ago events in my life in the context of my experience and (some) wisdom -- I've readjusted my percpective...

Now this is one of those cute little feel good stories that I'll be smiling about for days. Children are the greatest joy in this world. Well, except when they grow up and become a pain in the keister. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you Ric. God didn't come though with the sibling. He probably know I minth make life miserable for one if one did come around.

I just wrote a poem about faith. Great minds and all that. Your picture is lovely. Kids tend to take things very literally. Did you ever get your sibling? my older sister Kathy kept trying to turn me into Sears every time we went there for a while because Mom told her I as her first birthday present! :-) Karen

Did you have a good internal life on your own? Karen
-
Yes, I learned to entertain my self. I was quite happy reading books and I happy living alone now. I don't feel alone.
-
I am moving to be near my sisters, But I will still spend the majority of my time alone.
I feel I have earned my peace.:-)
