LOL!!! What a fabulous twist at the end! This is a great little flash fiction story, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It began with me thinking he was doing all this in the hope of winning his lady back, but it was a character in the story he was writing! Fabulous, and good luck in the contest!! :)) Sandra xx

Hello, Sandra!
The one thing I enjoy most about writing is seeing the reader's conclusions and how the story affects them. It not only puts a smile on my face but also inspires me to write some more. I'm thrilled you enjoyed this little flash, and thank you for taking the time to read and comment. Have a great day!

A realistic journal entry - and who knows which day will be their last? it combines a mix of the ordinary, and the humorous, and was written well. Sending you good wishes for the contest.

Thanks, Wendy... I wrote as if she had no idea what was about to happen, because that's how I expect life to be. When someone finds the journal, I hope they see the effort made to be a better person each day. Have a great day!

Thanks, Dolly... One never knows where the day will take you or what the next will bring. Glad you found some pleasure in reading my silly flash. Have a great day!

Love it! This is great! So much personality and relatable thoughts contained in this challenging 100 word flash. You've skilfully expressed this in a journal-style prose, faultlessly and a pleasure to read. No corrections required. Thanks for sharing your strong contender! Good luck Debbie

I liked this, but it doesn't give much of a clue what happened to the journal writer. That is maybe what you intended. All the best of luck in the contest. Ulla:)))

Yes, the way I understood the contest (but probably was wrong) it was just another day and the writer had no idea the world was really going to end. She just wrote her thoughts for the day. Thanks for the review and the comments. Have a great day!

I felt like the person in the story was writing, not aware of what was coming. The end of the world would be a surprise. She just wrote what she was feeling at that moment.
Have a great day@

This is a unique approach to an apocalyptic event. I suspect this is not what was in mind when the challenge was set but why not subvert the idea. I am left asking is this someone who catastrophises, are they in denial or ignorance? Good luck in the contest.

Actually, I mistook what I was writing; I guess. I couldn't see how there would be time to write in a journal after the catastrophe had taken place, so I wrote her last entry in the journal...the day before it actually happened. Thanks for the review. Have a great day!

I see it was meant to be the day before so you are not too far off.

This is wonderful, I truly wonder how many would do the housework and think of those who they have upset, many of us I think, very well written and will relate to many, best wishes for your contest****kahpot

Thanks so much for your kind thoughts and the review. Actually, I thought of it as her last entry, not knowing that the next day the world would end. Guess that's not exactly what everyone else thought. But how would you write in a journal after the world ended? Have a great day.

This brief piece gives a pretty complete look at this character: what is valued, prioritized, accomplished, and avoided. I'm guessing all writers have to work their way through the things we do to avoid facing the task at hand. Excellent work!

Thanks so much Sharon for reading and commenting. I thought of it as just an average day...since we never know when the world might end... and she was writing her thoughts for the day. Have a great day!

A woman on a mission or simply pissed off at something...
Cleaning closets, scrubbing bathroom floors, laundry and even baked a pie, woo-hoo.
Not bad for the final day...
Best of luck in the contest.

Sounds just about right....a woman with little time for thinking and a job to get done. And then relaxing and slipping away in her memories. Thanks for the kind review.
