He's home, and he's safe ... but he is different. He 's been changed in many ways and their relationships will never be and can never be quite the same because his eyes have seen things no one should see, and he's endured what no one should have to endure. But so far so good. You've expressedthese realities in a very poignant way, and I think there will be more. And I feel that he will meet Artie. I hope the outcome will be positive. Because of the various attitudes of Heddi and Nonni, I really hope it will be positive!

But so far so good. You've expressedthese realities in a very poignant way, and I think there will be more. And I feel that he will meet Artie. I hope the outcome will be positive. This is a beautifully told scene of a reunion. You've made the reader feel the variety of emotions in each of the characters. I haven't read any of the story that came before but had no trouble slipping right into it.
I have a couple suggestions for your consideration:
She **just** shakes like she's cold. For a few seconds she **just** stands there unable to move. Finally, she runs towards him, throwing her arms around him and **just**saying
(I would remove one or two of the 'just's)
I feel my feet moving and before I know it, I'm swept up
(...moving and, before I know it, I'm...)
