Oh, how I can relate. Writer's block they call it and it blocks the mind from coming up with all kinds of good ideas written on paper with pen.
I try to wait until I have an idea planted in my brain before I sit down to write something or another. That way they won't scurry away with my muse.

Heh heh, this sounds very much like, on occasions, I've heard a thought utter a brilliant theme with language to match, I've delayed, an Lo and behold, they've scurried away, never to be caught again. Well done, blessings Roy
Typo : In utter horror as (a)

Thanks, Roy, for your careful review. I did not use the article with Brilliant Idea as my intention is to personify it. Does that work?

Of course

Sometimes those inspirations just evaporate if we don't write done the gist of the ideas or fragments of the words before they "disappear without a trace." Thanks for recognizing this problem we writers have!

An excellent entry for the Dribble Flash Fiction contest. What is it about a blank piece of paper that does that to a writer? Your story meets the 50 word criteria of the contest. Nicely written. Good luck

Wonderful description of writer's block! I had a similar situation a week ago. It's great that you wrote this as a Dribble Flash for the contest. Best wishes. Carol

Every writer, whether poetry or prose, can relate to this writing of yours. I can have a brilliant idea, and it will be gone before I grab a pen. I wish you good luck in the contest.

Excellent! At least you were left with the ability to write a fun piece of prose, and it is well supported by your image. Sending you best wishes for the flash fiction contest.

When it comes down to something as small as this I like to read every detail take it all in and enjoy it. This is easy to enjoy but difficult to review. I think it is fantastic but I would change one thing and this is simply a personal point the word idea comes from the French idée. Idée is a feminine word. Just for the sake of that, I would change him to her. Stupid I know but I like to give advice where I can and there is nothing wrong with this to advise on.
