Terry, I respect you and your opinion, but I read your post thoroughly and noticed that where the subject of "character" is concerned, there was no mention of the character of the Liberal. And what you said about conservatives, of which I am one, is disgusting, besides being untrue - and is a blanket condemnation.
Certainly you can't condone the ineptness of not only the President, but the members of his cabinet. What ability, knowledge or experience did any of them bring to their jobs? and though Mr. Trump has turned people off with his bragging and other comments, My word, look at Biden's!! and then there's the fact that Trump did great things for this country and donated his salary to charity. And I'd like to know one good thing for America that Biden has done.
Also, all this stuff that Trump is being put through the wringer for he has never been indicted for. He has done nothing wrong, and just because some people may not like him does not mean that he did. And the whole gang - everyone involved with the unconstitutional, farce of a trial are Democrats who, through family or connections are out to get him, and have said as much. You call that fair?
Terry, the reason I am going on about this is that it is not fair what is being done to Trump, and the liberals in the gov't know that but they are doing everything in their power and (not in their power) to keep him from winning or any other Republican, for that matter. And the 20 some-odd Republicans in name only - the elites, don't want their boat rocked, so they have turned coat, splitting their own party.

Katherine, thank you for reading. Thank you for making your points. As Dr. Frazier Crane, my favorite TV psychiatrist, often says. I'm listening. But as a dear fellow Texan, we are going to have to agree to disagree. Terry.

okay.

I agree with you on most of your points. I don't like either candidate. They both have issues. This is my opinion. I'm concerned if Trump.gets it will be bad. I know biden is old and I honestly don't think he should be in, he looks so tired. But trump is dangerous. I like your poem. You covered alot of the points. It was well written. Great job.

My favorite line: "Liberals and conservatives love to point the middle finger at each other." this is excellent I don't know where to begin. It's really no place to be getting again because it is entirely excellent. You could easily help with the platform of the next candidate running whoever that's going to be. A+ material

Comment from Frank Malley
Mr. Broxson's essay about responsibility in leadership is clearly an outcome of America's circumstances as we prepare to vote in 2024. Although the analyses could be very lengthy, this author's reasoning is terse and focused, easy to understand and evaluate. Much of what he says resonates with powerful truth, albeit I am opining.
My only discontent with this piece of opinion writing is that the author leaves the reader to guess as to whether he, the author, will vote at all without a worthy candidate. In fact, it is often true that the only choice we have is the lesser of two evils.

Frank, thank you for reading. Good question about who I will vote for, because I hope something might happen to give a better choice. We go two men, one under cloud of several court cases. Anything could happen. I will vote. Terry.

Yay! Someone who can rant about politics without making me mad!
Well done. Steve Allen did a hilarious rant in which the ranter never explains what it is he's upset about. I want to write one of those!

Terry,
An excellent post and accurate rants through and through. You did manage to sprinkle in a bit of comic relief but each point is valid and I can agree with you. Through the years I voted for whom I thought was the best candidate regardless of party affiliation.
I'm 69 living comfortably, my three kids are all doing well but I'm concerned for my grandkids and what the future holds for them.
God help us!
Enjoy your Monday.

John, thank you for the six stars. We never had kids, but I can understand why you are concerned about your grandkids. I do others who feel the same way. The national debt alone may drown their dreams. Terry.

Absolutely brilliant, Terry! I agree with everything you say and, though it's a rant, you never lose track of good old common sense. Your post is written clearly and eloquently and I could go on reading your very well considered views forever, particularly those on abortion and women's rights. You've excelled here. Well done! Debbie

I am not American, nor do I live in the US, but believe me, the whole world is very worried, even us way over here in Australia. You presented excellent arguments in a considered and thoughtful way, with excellent development of each point. I agree with every word. It seems incredible that the system of government is such that these two are the only possible candidates. The parties they represent do not have America's interests at heart, just their own, and the blame game is so well ingrained that they WiLL not work together even on issues which they should be able to discuss for the obvious well being of your country. So very divisive, and I fear that the country is imploding. Sorry. I just ranted too. Outstanding writing.

Wendy, thank you for the six stars. As an Australian, a long-time valued ally of America, you are right to be concerned about the future path of American. Thank you for reading. Terry.

Some sound common sense here sprinkled with enough humour to bring the absurdities into sharp focus.
I think you have proposed a new tax, too, that would solve the world's overpopulation crisis at a stroke!

Tony, LOL, thank you for reading. That new fee added to what might be called "The Penis Plan" might solve the deficit as well. Terry.

Preaching to the choir. I am so embarrassed that the republicans put forth that criminal as a choice. They sure need to rewrite the eligibility code for nominees.

Karen, thank you for the six stars. As a Texan you are well aware we have our challenges. We can't even get rid of crook like Ken Paxton. Thank you for reading. Terry.
