I enjoy this. I sure Heddy mom is thrilled to learn her son is coming home. Lester much have believed the his aunt would not have given the letter if he has sneaked and given it to Heddy. It is something else for her to wonder about. I've missed this story lately but I guess you were busy getting you book out.

Mrs Collette sounds like she is less than honest and people like this are dangerous. Heddy's Mum is doing the right thing to apologise, but really I think she is right about her going through the mail, she is abusing her position. A subtle and entertaining right and I expect things will change when the boy comes home, love Dolly x x x

Well, I just jumped into your story with this installment, but your characters grabbed my attention quickly, and both they and the story held my interest. I honestly clicked on it because I saw it was called "Bridges", and when the description said "more about Willis", my mind went to the show Diff'rent Strokes and the actor Todd Bridges who played ... Willis (LOL).

This is a lovely chapter of reconciliation which brings some much needed joy to Momma. Then the letter from Willis is the icing on the cake (so to speak). This is all so heart-warming because there's been such a weight hanging over Heddy and her mom. An interesting question at the end (needing a question mark: But why didn't Lester just hand it to her(?); Haven't had time (to) go through all the mail sacks yet; Momma's smile couldn(')t have been any brighter; We make it around (the) bend in the road.
As ever, excellent dialogue and good pace to the story. Thanks for sharing Debbie
