This is a well written story but I didn't see anything about Artie in this chaper. Heddt seems concerned about Willis comeing home. I imagine he would act differently. Her grandmother shows up when she is worried.

I feel so sorry for Lester. I think there were lots of 'Lester's' in the war. Couldn't go home because of the bombing. I just wish that aunt of his would lighten up.
I thought Heddy was very wise in that she understands her brother might not be the brother she remembers. So many came home changed after what they had seen and had to do.
Another really nice chapter, Gretchen, I love the innocense of Heddy, and I really like it when she talks to her grandmother. Well done, my friend. :)) Sandra xx

I feel so sorry for Lester. I think there were lots of 'Lester's' in the war. Couldn't go home because of the bombing. I just wish that aunt of his would lighten up.

Heddy is justifiably sad that Lester can't come over to play with her. So she goes to him, and finds he's starving as sweeps the post office steps, he's not allowed to come over yet, there's no mail. Beautifully written, Gretchen, blessings Roy
