I love the image of tumbleweeds of fur. The idea of it is proof of how much we put up with in exchange for the joy our pets bring into our lives. And you conveyed this in 17 syllables. Good job!

Thank you! You're right; pets put what's important into perspective, don't they?
Thank you for this nice review. xo

Do you actually have a poor cat you shave? The poem is clever as I certainly have come to expect.
"What price beauty?"Not one complaint on the poem.
You are a true friend. And not just because you almost always agree with me. That just points to your high intelligence. hahahaha :-) Good work here.

No, I do not have to shave my cat, thankfully; that, I think, would be a deal breaker for me. My cat is a short-hair and very silky. I did have a very hairy boyfriend once who required semi-weekly full-body shavings, though. (I'm sorry; TMI?... It's just that, it's 30 years later, and I'm still processing it.)
Thank you for the lovely review. I'm thinking you must have discovered who I am by going into my Portfolio, being that this is a blind contest and all? Thanks for the very kind words. I totally appreciate them.

I am not allowed to say. :-)

Oh, gotcha!

A fun 5/7/5 poem for the contest. There definitely are trade offs when you have pets. I'm afraid a long haired kitty cat with all that beautiful fur would wreak havoc with my husband's allergies.
Great picture to accompany your poem.
Blessings
Janet.

I'm hearing that a lot tonight!
Thanks for your nice review, Janet.

I liked this poem. I agree with you on what you said. My cat who passed away about 8 months ago, shed a lot. I was always running the vaccum. The cat is very pretty. I liked where you said: molts tumbleweed of fur. Very good job.

Ohhh, Brenda; I'm so sorry your cat is no longer with you. How old was she, and had you had her since she was a kitten?
Thank you for this very nice review. I appreciate it so much!

Yeah, I was so upset. She died in my arms, She was only 6, She was my baby. I think she had something wrong with her heart.
-
Oyyyy. That's excruciating. Well, at least she was with you at the end. There's no better solace for her than that. xo

She's cute and lives the life of luxury...but allergies and long hair would be the death of me. Poor kitty. I hope there are treatments for you as well.

My "treatment" comes in the form of a high-functioning vacuum cleaner!!
So sorry to hear you're allergic. My daughter (now grown and out of the house) is highly allergic to felines, as well.
Comment from Baltimore Born
This is a well-crafted poem. Your 5-7-5 syllable count is on point for this contest. Each line of this poem connects well with the next. Good complimentary picture.

Unknown bard, I love your use of cursive, especially, since this writing is
about a "family" member:) I like how calm feline is letting herself be groomed...The picture and these sparse words compliment each other so
well...Good luck in the contest. teafor

This poem reminds me of my mother's shih tzu. You chose your words well, and the content was humorous. You got the syllable count right, as well. Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.

-Good image and nice presentation.
-That is a lot of fur on that cat.
-You wrote a good poem about it.
-Effective imagery shows that she's
glamorous and I also like
"tumbleweeds of fur."
-A good concluding line.
-A good entry; good luck!
