You made me smile here with this funny post. If you are buying a new stove from a shop, they should take the old one away for free! It is a cheek charging you 50 dollars for that service and I reckon I would have felt the same way as you. But the task was too hard in the end and I do agree that they just make a pile of junk these days. An entertaining post, I am still laughing, love Dolly x x x

You have such a good attitude that you could find humor in all the pain that you were in! Excellent story and told with a good dose of humor.
We user a local dealer to get our appliances instead of the big box stores. And that guy tells us everything. He said they actually go to conventions where they are taught how to make the appliances die quicker, so people will replace them more often. Add all those environmental Modifications on top of it and you might as well do it the way they did a few hundred years ago.
