Being buried as an unknown victim of war is tragic and your acrostic confirms that being identified is essential to families when a heroic solder is laid to rest. A fine, clever acrostic, love Dolly x x x

A wonderful tribute to soldiers from every battlefield campaign. Servicemen are the heroes of every Nation. They give their all, many of them died in defending the rights of their Nation. The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier remembers each and every one of the men or women who donned the uniform of their country. May they all rest in peace.

What a wonderful acrostic poem that's in honor of our lost veterans. If anyone should recieve recognition, it's them. You have written a great poem, thanks for sharing.

This is a beautiful tribute to the many who have served and fallen in their fight for our freedoms. For too many, tomorrow will be just a day off of work for grilling outdoors but it is so much more and we should all stop and be thankful for the freedoms we have and how we maintain them. thank you for sharing.

I am glad that the tomb reminds us that there are many "unknowns", and they all are honoured for their service to our countries, regardless of whether named or not. Beautiful poem, and a fine illustration.

Hi teacor2
This is a well-done acrostic poem appropriate to the holiday. It is a good historical report on why the graves are there and why we celebrate this holiday. Watching the changing of the guards here has a strong emotional effect.
Keep writing and stay healthy.
Enjoy the rest of your holiday weekend.

A great Acrostic and the illustration complimented your poem. I have not heard of stacking unknown bodies into one coffin? We don't do this in Australia. I think if one man gave his life for his country, he deserves a coffin to honor him. Thanks for sharing. K xx

Your acrostic poem is nice to read. I always enjoyed writing this type of poem. It is so nice of you to pay tribute to the soldiers who lost their lives in WWI and WWII. It couldn't be a better time than this to put it on Fanstory since Memorial Day is Monday the 27th.

Yes, they must never be forgotten for their incredibly brave endeavours. It's always so sad when these soldiers remain anonymous. Your fine acrostic, which fluently flows down the page, ensures that their memory will be kept alive. Beautifully presented. Well done! Debbie

Of any country that was involved in these conflicts, including the enemy. The average soldier has no control over what his country's leaders decide, Some of the great protest writers of songs never had to look, I don't think some countries had a choice. Beautifully written my friend, blessings Roy
