This story poem, In Memory of Poppin Fresh, pulls no punches as you roll out every known hot-crossed pun to honor the deceased and well-greased flour child.

Bill - Thank you so much for your review of my re-creation of the old, original short story on the obituary of the Pillsbury Doughboy. When I ran across the story again a couple of weeks ago, I decided it was time to give it that old "poetic" try! LOL! I'm so happy you enjoyed! Thank you again and have a wonderful evening!

This was so cute and really an inventive poem. I think you really cooked up a winner for the Share a Story in a Poem contest. Puns and word play have a special place in my hear. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much, Marilyn, for the wonderful review! This poem was inspired by a very short little story about the death of the Pillsbury Doughboy that was going around many years ago. I always wanted to see if I could put it into a rhyming poem and when I ran across it again (just a couple of weeks ago), it seemed to fall into place. Thanks again for the great review! So happy that you enjoyed!

Thanks, Shelley, for the great review! So happy that it gave you a chuckle. This poem was actually inspired from a very short story about the Pillsbury Doughboy's death written several years ago. I always wanted to put it into a rhyming poem, and it was just a couple of weeks ago when I happened to run across the story and decided to take a stab (or a poke) at the rhyme. Thank you again and so happy you enjoyed!
