Snowballing. Out. Of. Control.
Isabella seems like the only sane one in the family. What a mess and she's the only grown-up to handle it, it seems. I can't wait to see how she navigates through this situation, and how Ava does, and how Natasha does.

For your consideration:

Do you think he'd used them?" (Use)

as if she was walking on eggshells (she were-subjunctive here)

solid evidence proving it disproving what she claims. (? I am not sure what this is saying. I'm not sure if it's a typo or a missing comma, but it could use some clarity.)

You are doing a great job communicating the story. Julie.

Thanks...I believe I've made the corrections and I appreciate your help. Now I must face Chapter 30 and see where it takes us.

Oh, Nat. If only you knew the web of deceit you are weaving. Her father didn't do anything to her, and she admitted as much when confessing she knew a "way" out of the situation on the way to the Nurse's office. The system has to take all accusations seriously and THAT is something Nat didn't consider.

She's a very troubled young woman. How many family members will be pulled apart by her lies?

I've seen this happen in real life. It's never a good outcome.

No apologies are needed for the language. This reads very authentically.

What a mess!

Karenina

Hurrah! I thank you for all the encouragement and understanding you have provided throughout. I'm not one to talk like this, matter of fact, I find it disgusting. My daughter's trucker mouth came from her dad and she has passed it on to her daughter. Funny though...neither of my boys swear like that.

We all know people who use the "F" word like we'd use punctuation as we write...

That is why this rings so true!

I can't wait to see how you're going to get to the truth. It will be an interesting read. All of this is because Natasha is a real spoilt bratt who's only wants things her way, no matter who gets hurt.

Isabella sighed, (sighed.)

You nailed Natasha perfectly. She has tunnel vision that only suits her way of thinking...never considering how it affects others.

You know, all of Natasha's behavior is consistent with someone who has been repeatedly raped as a child. It is either that or, she seriously needs psychiatric care immediately. Good writing. Karen

She seriously needs psychiatric care...which she gets but manages to make them her friends instead of doctors. It's crazy!

Why on earth did Isabella do that? It would have been the best thing to happen. Nat needs a shock. She didn't realise what was going to happen after her accusations. How could she even do that? She really needs putting into one of the padded rooms for a few months. She is still being coddled, and is enjoying it. Apart from being forced to live with her grandmother. You are doing such a good job here, Carol, I just hope it's helping you. Love you lots. Sandra xx

Isabella is the matriarch of the family... She truly believes it is her responsibility do hold the family together regardless of the cost to her. Raised in a family without love, she strives to prove her family loves each other more than life, while knowing she fails miserably. Thanks so much, Sandra.

I laughed at the last sentence, "at least she didn't use one swear word." And Isabella would be in awful trouble with Ava and with Natasha if she had just invited Jackson right in. At least, having a warrant would mean she was just complying with the law, something that Natasha doesn't know how to do. Hope her lies catch up to her!

I'm glad you understood that part, Others thought she should have opened her door and said there she is...Life was already bad...It would have been much worse. Thought Isabella would have liked to wash her hands of the girls...she was caught between a hard spot and a rock.

I can pretty much believe this is the way in went don't. I've known a few Ava's. Some kids lie so convincingly, but I would think Natalie's father would be denying all of this and trying to prove she was lying about him rather than threatening to kill himself. That has to be devastating to be accused of something like but I'm sure people would assume guilt if he did that. Great chapter.
I'll be fucking swear at him. did you mean swearing at him?

He never threatened to kill himself...he just had the guns in his hands and contemplated...didn't share his thoughts. To this day, I find it difficult to put myself in those shoes... To live as a family walking on eggshells wondering when the next lie will fall and who it will take down.

I hope you daughter and son-in -law are still together. I can imagine if he is hot tempered and she yells and swears, that they have had some difficult encounters.

He's always had a temper but most of the time he'd yell and go outside and slam his fist against the garage walls. On the other hand, my daughter can't talk without using her gutter mouth and lower decimals were never heard of. They are together but I think it's more of a toleration out of necessity. though Kaitlyn has said she's sorry, she still says it happened. No one talks about it in fear of being berated by her. It's an open wound that can't heal. As for me, she's cut me out of their life...which is probably for the best, but it stings. Thus, I wrote this fictional story to weave in the pain and difficult times we've faced.

I know how you must feel. It has to hurt. I hope the day will come when shw will realize she needs oyou in her life. Writing it all down, has to help with the pain. It make a wonderful story.

I think the bad language is that it shows that she has little or no control over her own problems, and her daughter has caught all the bad things, don't worry I know good mothers, but their daughter is a alcoholic who chooses bad men, beauwrutten Carol, blessings Roy

Thanks, Roy... I struggled to put in the story, but in a way it is a big part of the story. "Ava" intimidates and lets of steam by swearing, especially when she knows she can dominate with it. "Isabella" hates it and maybe that adds fuel to the fire.

    Have a great day!
