Tea for two, that you are so grateful for each day is inspiring, and such a humble, reverent frame of mind. And to appreciate "free will" thought, you are grateful for blessings that most, it doesn't even occur to them! I think this poem is in sync with God's higher power. Great poem! Maddy

Hi T42,
A nice free verse poem. I think you are a Christian, an overcomer, prayerful, hopeful, and thankful. Not many of us have been through your trials, I'm sure. Viet Nam was no picnic, that's for sure.
I love to pick out random rhymes in a free verse. You have quite a few here...
take/makes
aware/prayers
way/day
me/free
night/respite/invite/spite
sees/me
tests/blessed
My favorite lines,
"In spite of all trials, tests and tribulations,
I have been and continue to be blessed"
Nicely penned!
Cheers,
Kimbob

This is a lovely celebration of life with "Any breath I take..." and inspiring (if you excuse the pun) given all that you've gone through and yet the gratitude you still feel. I think it's wonderful to be able to enjoy every new day and put your worries into perspective. Well done! Debbie

You survived Vietnam and yet preserved your faith and adopted such a spiritually healthy way of living with full recognition of God's grace and continued blessings.
Great message! Thank you for serving!

Lyenochka: When you are in harms way, it's not too surprising to call
on a power that's greater than the mess you are in, and believe that
if God wants you out of whatever it is, "He will deliver us from all evil." Thank you for thanking me:) teafor2

This poem includes an interesting thing to be grateful for here:
grateful and
humble for another 'free will' thought
That is such an intriguing thing to be grateful for, another thought while being alive and using our free agency. Nice share.

My brother served in Vietnam, but was wounded, he has passed on now, also my father was at Dunkirk when they had to evacuate 300,000 soldiers, but I've never been in a war zone, but I've travelled a lot, but I'm still here, well done, blessings Roy

You do know that we all have portfolios...right
-
I actually found your work there
-
When reviewing a poem or a story and it is a Blind contest it is super important not to use the writers name...
-
That's quite understandable...For its
purpose, it is perfect:) teafor2
-
So it is always quite easy to read each others work...
