This poem fits the contest prompt very well. You even got an end rhyme with morning(s)/soothing squeezed in there. I think this would be a great poem to hang up in a break room at work. Good luck in that contest!

as a coffee lover I concur. I got to have my coffee in the morning but sadly it is half decafe now and I have to cut it off by noon. what's your favorite coffee brand? mine is Peets coffee followed by Starbucks

An excellent proclamation about the stunning impact of coffee. I drank as much as twenty cups when I was younger, now I drink one big cup throughout the morning and that one cup still gives me great satisfaction as I water my orchids.

Baltimore Born: This succinct 'realism' verse will never receive the kind of
praise it deserves. However, IMHO, it is on par with the likes of William Carlos Williams poem about eating the last piece of fruit and how good it was! Good luck with this in the contest. teafor2

I can relate to your poetic contest entry. Every morning I go from the bathroom washing up and brushing teeth, straight to the kitchen where a coffee maker has my coffee ready. Oh so soothing. I enjoyed your poem and your perfect artwork. Best wishes in the contest.
