â?¢ a powerful and moving poem using emotionally charged language and traditional meter and rhyming schemes Imagery includes natural elements ("thunder clouds," "lightning bolts," "dry winds," "waters gurgling") and abstract concepts ("dreams," "prayers," "possibilities," "love," "silence").

Jake, you covered the gamut, thank you for your comments.
Comment from Bill Schott
This abecedarian, Emptiness, has the proper formatting and waxes negatively on seemingly all aspects of life which are both empty and losing light all night.

It is a pity that there is a feeling of emptiness here and you drove home your point by repeating this word. Silence forces us to contemplate our life and some may feel lonely, a poignant write, love Dolly x

Alphabetic poem is quite full of topics that can inspire more poems seemingly ready to be acted upon. That is a good starting point, next comes the will to make it happen, Thanks for sharing your alphabet poem Good Luck on your next adventure.

Hi Jim! Welcome back! I thought you were focusing more on pottery than poetry. Good idea to use an abecedarian to help you compose and the refrain of emptiness. Everything is empty and vain (Ecclesiastes "all is vanity") without the Lord.

Thank you for the welcome back. I am back in the pottery studio and dusting off my writing tablet. Had to deal with some recovery challenges that come with aging....all is well, all is good!

Well, I am not sure if I got a message from reading this but it did feel important and certainly was written in a way I was able to enjoy the words. Good luck with dipping some more toes and I hope I get to read more.

You have taken us all through the alphabet to show us how many things in life are just in emptiness. Without love and understanding and respect I guess all things pretty much are empty. Patricia .

And found. Truly you are not empty. The depths of this poem prove that. You may lack another socially acceptable way of expression, but not empty. Full in fact.

A-Z, and you mastered it. Nothing seemed forced. I would say you nailed this getting back into writing poem. This is excellent. Please bless us with more poetry.

Barbara, you are so very kind. I will attempt to stick my big toe back into the river that flows with words.

All the way to the letter Z!!! Plus you nailed Z spectacularly:
Zigzagging scorching lava
Emptiness.
I think you got more than a toe in with this...maybe a whole foot!
