Great photo. Indeed this cactus is distinctive and should be protected. One wonders how long the one in the photo has lived to get so tall. CACTUS is a singular noun so the verb in line 2 should be STANDS.

Thank you so much for your kind review. I would suspect that this particular cactus is over 100 years old.

They must be difficult to grown and they are encouraged to name them, I'm pretty sure we might have had some planted by the previous owners of our house, we had to be rid of them, their prickles were insidious, beautifully written, blessings Roy
