Things are looking up for David/Alan. I am curious about the change in Tina. I have a feeling the truth will eventually come out. This is a good write. I am enjoying the story.

Want to meet me here at the store? (I think it reads smoother without 'here')

Thanks so much, Barbara. Any ideas about that change in Tina? It will be significant when they meet again in a few chapters.

Well, that seemed easy enough.
Nicely written.
Alan's Electrical Equipment Repair? Do people actually repair things anymore? Ah, but alas, it's just a story. Of course Alan can make a living.
Best wishes.

Today, you're correct in this disposable society of ours. Fix a printer? Forget it; buy a new one. This was 1985, however, so they still tended to fix things then. Not for much longer, though.

I do hope Bobby proves to be a genuine friend to David/allan. I enjoyed the chapter Jim and it sounds like David is getting on with life.
Well written, Cheers
Valda

Well, I'm pleased he's been able to make a fresh start. He deserves to be happy and be able to make his own way successfully. I'm just so sad he's not teaching. But maybe he'll get another shot? :)

Maybe he will. All kinds of ways to be a teacher.

It seems Bobby at least thinks and trusts that David is ridgee didge. (Aussie slang) for a Mexican meal, but he shares with Bobby his name is now Alan and not David, and of course Bobby says how hard it will be to remember the change. Beautifully written Jim, blessings Roy

Thanks, Roy. It's certainly nice to have someone believe you and be on your side. Very difficult to go it alone.

Wow! David works fast! How in the world did he move from a house in just two weeks? I guess he paid some movers and he knows a lot about running a business for such a young teacher. But what I really liked about this chapter was his good longtime friend. We all need someone who really trusts and believes in us.

Well, it's two months, not two weeks, but even that is moving pretty fast to get out on one house and into another. I had to speed up the timeline for a reason that will become clear a bit later.

Yes, Bobby is a godsend for Alan (I'm going to start calling him that now.) Nice to have someone in your court.

This is a good chapter that tells a lot about Alan's plans, although it doesn't quite tell what he will be selling. It is good to know that Bobby has total faith in his innocence. The sentence: The last time I talked . . . is too much like the previous sentence.

He won't be selling anything except repair services. I agree with you about the two sentences and condensed them into one. Thanks for that, Carol.

Things are working out well for him, on the outside at least, and up till now. Tina may be having second thoughts about what she did perhaps - one would hope so. But she probably won't admit it, anyway. An excellent chapter, and a nice way to bring the reader up to date by a catch-up conversation.

Perceptive, Wendy. Alan (I'll be calling him that from now on) and Tina will meet again down the road, and that meeting should prove very interesting.

Fortunate lad in that he had a trade to rely on making a living. Leaving all that trauma behind was surely better than a thicket of thorny roses, meaning false accusations.

Agreed. Not everyone could just become self-employed in a new field like that, but he's a talented guy who could leave that "thicket of thorny roses" (I like that) aside for another endeavor.

Maybe ... never mind, but if you want to use "a thicket of thorny roses," feel free.
