Mobile Phones

A rant indeed! A well-written one, at that.
We still have mobile phones. They are remote phones that work off land lines. Many U.S. households continue to have mobile phones as well as a cell phone for each individual.
While I agree with your analysis of the poor habits of cell phone users, reading your rant, I began to wonder whether anyone might have written a similar piece about automobiles depriving people of the social graces of greeting one another in passing and all else that zooming by at breakneck speeds of 30 and 40 mph (miles per hour (smiley face here)). (Hey, it's British. We can't help it that Great Britain went European with your measurements last century.) smiley face here

I'm positive that they would have! :) Every innovation has problems as well as advantages, sadly. Mobiles aren't going anywhere, though.

Preaching to the choir there sister! I have a flip phone only, and it is for my convenience. I use email for communicating outside of verbal conversation. I had pen pals most of my life. Writing complete words is also dwindling. I pray for the EMP. :-) Karen
