Your good heart on display! Your gratitude is celebrated.
Lovely last couplet:
"...I carry a cup that is mine alone.
I would trade it for no other...."
Thank you for your poem.

Thank you so much, Richard. I know you've found that age brings a great deal of reflection!

I enjoyed this, Verna. That cup of remembrance is a lovely image of those proud and not so proud experiences along life's path. As you sit and ponder them whilst enjoying that special moment, it actually reminds me of Carly Simon's lyrics: 'Clouds in my coffee' (You're So Vain) and how the mind can be transported to another realm and time. Thanks for sharing and good luck! Debbie

This is excellent free verse. We all have our own cup and I wouldn't trade mine either. My memories are precious and I feel the blessing far outweigh the sorrows. No one's cup always pleasant. There are many sorrows and pains to deal with, but that is life and we would change it if we could.

This is an interesting and heartfelt Free Verse Poem entry.
It seems to me that we each have our own specially brewed cup to sip from.
Great piece. Good luck in the competition!

This free verse, The Cup I Carry, holds all the treasures you value so close to you. Just like a warm toddy, our friends and family make life the sweet drink it should be.

I enjoyed reading this. I liked the way you portrayed your life. Very clever. Picture and poem went well together. Well written. I also like the last line, I would trade it for no other.
