If the guy or lady is worried about housekeeping during sex, you are not a matched set. As far as I am concerned you are the clear winner here. Karen :-)

When I reviewed this, I reviewed it on the merit of the writing. I did not (and do not) stop to try to discover who has written a "blind" contest entry.
While OCD is a serious condition that adversely affects many, I did find your author's notes humorous.
I had ZERO idea you'd written this. A simple "thank you" for the review would have been appropriate and appreciated.

I'm not sure if people who have OCD actually believe they can achieve perfection, and perhaps help the world to be the same. It's OK, I have a couple of grandchildren who making a similar journey, of course it's a psychological condition, so I understand. Beautifully written in great, atmospheric rhyming couplets, well done, blessings Roy

Wonderful! And what a great entry for this contest to treat a serious condition such as this with humour. I think you perfectly captured in your light-hearted tone this obsession that can actually become so problematic and time-consuming that sufferers can end up never leaving the house. You complement this verse with very humorous notes which could stand alone as a post (just small edit with fantasy). Well done and good luck! I enjoyed. Debbie

Your words capture in poetic form what OCD is. Your lines are vivid and give a clear picture and feeling of OCD. Your rhyming of words is smooth and adds to the picture and feelings your create. I like the verse about the pets and their fur and getting the vacuum out. I am sure many can relate to your words.

I think we all have SOME form, even if it's minor, of this affliction...well, everyone but my daughter. She's the messiest creature on the planet (and 42 now, so it's not like it's a childhood phase.)
Thanks for this helpful, specific review. Those are always my favorite type to receive.

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is a serious condition, but you found poetic humor in describing some of the symptoms. I enjoyed reading your rhythmic unforced rhymes, and the story you shared in your author notes. I wish you the best in the contest.

Thanks very much, LJbutterfly. In these hypersensitive, oh-so-easily offended times, I was surprised to even see such a contest offering. But I've always felt that if you can laugh at the things that are your shortcomings, you take a lot of their power away. Humor is so therapeutic, and I don't feel it's getting used to its fullest degree anymore.
Thank you for this insightful review. Very much appreciated.

A true display of skill.
I was totally sucked in from the moment I started to read. This piece is packed with energy, and I suppose that's where a lot of this humor comes from: the ability to just be oneself, let it out, and "complain" so much that this complaining feels less like complaining and more like delighting in what it means to be oneself. Human, even? I mean, knowing myself even just a little bit, even though I might not be all in one, I definitely relate. WELL DONE!
Cheers to a new year, and thanks for sharing!

OCD is the perfect subject to not take seriously when of course we should take it as such. I have a friend whose son was extremely OCD and he had to go to a special school with behavior modification to help him curb his symptoms. But as they say, laughter is the best medicine and this poem shows us how to laugh until it hurts.
Thanks for poking fun at just the right illness. By the way, I love your reference to CDO which puts the disorder in its correct alphabetical order. Haha, that's great!

There are definitely some things I am obsessive about. I can't have anything out of place at home, everything has to be neatly tidied away. I always have to brush my teeth for two minuets, no matter if I'm running late. I always have to brew a cup of tea for 4 minutes. I could go on. A well written piece. I enjoyed reading it.

Everyone has quirks; it's what makes us unique. You do no harm with yours, so no big deal, right? When it controls your life, you have to re-assess, of course, but that's not what's happening with you, Sweet Jacob. How's your toothpaste etiquette, though?

This is marvellous! You describe perfectly a person in the throes of OCD. I am but too familiar with the feeling. Still, at least you have a tidy house. I wish you the best of luck in the contest.
