This is wonderfully written where it appears it comes from the heart. I like how this poem shows a lot of gratitude for things that you do enjoy and are thankful for.

I wish I had six stars to give you for this very precious poem you have penned about Family and Christmas. You used great loving and good descriptive words. It is so nice to hear someone say they are a Christian! So many now days don't want to admit it. I am so thankful to be a Christian and to have some very nice friends on here! May God bless you and your family, and I pray you have a very blessed Christmas! Teri

This is a truly lovely piece of well written free verse poetry. It is such a refreshing change to read of someone who is grateful for what they have rather than complain about what they don't have. Some lovely imagery and alliteration in this poem. Good luck.

Family offers us a warm and sacred place to weather the storm outside our homes. Happy is the child who understands the value of this gift and is grateful. This is a lovely Christmas poem.

Yes! True happiness comes from our bonds with the people we love the most. Glad you liked the poem I wrote!

Ok, Austin, before you get sick of me, I had to finish off our chatting tonight with reviewing this. I do not do much free verse. I am known for my rhyming poetry and and occasional story here and there. Mostly you will see birthday and tribute poetry from me that usually tell a story about the recipients life. So you won't see this kind of writing from me too often.
However, it doesn't mean I don't love it. This was so meaningful and beautiful for the holidays. It was like you took everything that some complain about and answered back with such beauty and so graciously. You pointed out what wasn't and so sweetly told what was. What beautiful positivity. I can tell you are a Christian and I don't you just love when Jesus puts certain people in our path.
LOL, here I have been offering to help you, shoot, you are already reaching out to others and showing your big heart, during this season of love.
Gosh, I am glad to know you and I don't have to hope to be friends. I know I have found one in you. You deserve this six star review, my friend.
If you wouldn't mind, I would at some point like to know when your birthday is so I can put you on my list. Thanks! Debi

This is a lovely tribute that puts the focus of Christmas right where it belongs - away from crass commercialisation and back into the hart of a loving family. Thanks for the share.

I think that this is a very appropriate alternative topic to cover outside of directly writing a poetry about Christ. The Song of Solomon not once mentions God and yet it is appropriately placed in the Bible because of its message about love between a husband and wife. So a poem that takes joy in family and love and not coveting things, but recognizing blessings I think still shares a message of Christ even if you didn't mention Him.
