Thanks Roy for those kind words.
I can look out my front window and see a few of my Norway Maple leaves still dotting the green - with no snow yet - lawn. The late autumn wind will change that picture soon.
Best wishes for a happy holiday season.

Author,
Your poem-
crinkly maple leaves
paint pastures ~
wind colors canvas
Completes the proper syllable count with a fine picture. Though I don't have a pasture, I do have a significant amount of leaves which portions do look like wind blown canvas.
Good luck in the contest,
John

Thanks John for those comments for my Kelly Lune poem.
I too do not have a pasture to gaze upon. My own yard now has but a few leaves. Some are from my Norway Maple in the front of my home. Others will disappear with the wind or may soon be covered by snow.

I do love Moonwillow's artwork. Your lune captures the sight and sound of a crisp autumn morning. Beautiful imagery, Mark. But the leaves here are long gone. Well done.

June,
LA few still sprinkle my lawn. The wind or snow will eventually make them disappear.
Thanks for your review.

Indeed Fall leaves can "paint" a landscape before a gusty wind "alters [the] canvas." Nice use of alliteration in line two.
And Moonwillow's artwork is superb. I've raked up the leaves and dread the coming of snow. Rod

Rod?
Just a few leaves are scattered in my yard. The wind hopefully will take care of the same. Today on my northeast corner the temp is about 10 degrees warmer than the normal high for this day. Sunny and almost 50 is a perfect day.
Thanks, as always, for support of my short stuff. I likely have used MoonWillow?s artwork previously.
Enjoy the upcoming holidays.
