I liked reading this. I remember both 'Beetle Bailey' and 'Hi and Lois' in our newspaper while growing up. Very informative.
I only saw two misspellings:
The hyena also operated a marraige counseling service
I am sure you meant marriage.
And here: Charles M. Schulze Museum's Sparky Award.
It ought to be Charles M. Schulz. No e on the end.

I read both 'Beetle Bailey' and 'Hi and Lois'. I swear I read 'Beetle Bailey' in the Star and Stripes while stationed in Germany, but you say it was banned and I believe you, now I am wondering where I read it. Could it have been the Army Times? I bet that was it. Anyway, thank you for sharing Addison Morton Walker with us. He's very talented. The next time I'm on the Mizzou campus I will look for 'Beetle Bailey' by the Alumni Center.

You probably did read it in Stars and Stripes. The ban was in 1954. It actually backfired and helped make Beetle Bailey more popular with the military. Appreciate your comments and the review.
