This is a moving piece that articulates all these emotions of motherhood. I thought the rhythms of the verse moved like gentle waves over the page, gently rocking like a cradle. The images of the embroidered baby's blanket, the delicate laced curtains, speak of the fragility of life, and the commitment to keeping it safe in these fragile moments. Then you speak of how it carries on, over the years. Nobody loves you like your mother. estory

What a lovely tribute to a child who has obviously brought much joy. I personally feel there is nothing more beautiful or fulfilling than to nurse my baby in my arms. An unbreakable bond is formed for life - laced tightly by the love in both hearts.

I will never have the experience of bearing another life inside me, but I know something of parenting, and this resonated with me deeply. There truly are no words to describe that terrible, beautiful, all-encompassing love. But this poem comes close.
