Comment from Debbie D'Arcy
It seems that Mrs D's culture is not widely different from our own with women, as ever, as secondary citizens. This is a poignantly expressed discussion with a fellow sufferer whom you instinctively find a need to protect. Your introduction skilfully widens the focus on your life and reiterates the generational damage cause through domestic abuse. There are some small edits in it: I found myself going to it (time?) and again; there was lots of mayhem and (the it?)...; (gone) to stupid places; I understand the girl I (am) today..; No (they) reverberate and pass on...
Another excellent chapter in which your emerging maturity and increasing concern for others is the centrepiece. Thanks for sharing Debbie xo

At least you seem to have a trustworthy friend to share time with and that must help. Strength in numbers? Thanks for continuing with this, Lea. Love as always. x

Your last line is tantalising as we now know something awful is going to happen Lea. Can things get any worse for you Lea, is everyone around you violent? How awful this situation is. A husband having the right to beat his wife is something out of the dark ages and yet it is happening as we speak to some poor woman.
I have spent some Christmases alone Lea and I try and make the best of it. During Covid I was on my own for nearly two years with no communication with others except on line, it was a most difficult time for me.
Another fine chapter in your early life Lea, love Dolly x

Hello Lea,
I thought the story about the angel was funny. I didn't realize the family you were staying with was Indian. I thought they may have been oriental for some reason. I didn't realize that the Indian culture allowed spousal abuse. That's unfortunate to say the least. Thanks for sharing gal.
Have a blessed evening.

I wouldn't want to marry someone from India. Women are like slaves to thier man. They have strange rules. He can beat his wife but not his sons. I wander what he is allowed to do to a stranger in his house. I was about to go to bed. I glad I caught this. I enjoyed reading it.

Thank you best appreciate you as always. Yes, I wouldn't want to marry one either. I don't like being a sub citizen. That is not my thing I would not last a day in that! Thank you my friend for your reviews and for always knowing exactly what's going on!

Very, very well done, Lea. You've begun to let us see what's behind Mrs. D's curtain. It's chilling, but she's lucky to have you. Someone who hadn't had your level of experience with the situation might just baled on her. And you've made it interesting to see how differently you're reacting when you're not the one on the receiving end of the abuse. You become the protector.
One teeny spag is all I see (and this reminds me: do you notice how much better your editing is becoming? That's no small accomplishment. You're such a fast learner, Lea. xo
I found myself going to it **TIME** [tiny] and again.
