A lovely write with a very important and beautiful message. I aspire to be a Proverbs 31 woman as well. Thank you for this inspiring write. Your poems are always a pleasure to read.

Hello there Yusita, I appreciate your very kind comments for my Proverbs poem. I believe that the young women of today would benefit from hearing what it is God wants from us. There is a saying that I read once that says, "If we don't teach our children to love God, the world will teach them not to." What a sad thought. Thanks again, my dear friend. Love, Debi

It is amazing how when we get our lives to where we think they are supposed to be, we kind of step in front of God. Kind of a "I'll call you if I need you." He's there in good and bad times. I have to remind myself of that quite often. I owe it all to him. Great poem. Gretchen

Oh yes, Gretchen, I thank you so very much for the very kind review for my Proverbs poem.. And I do know exactly what you are talking about. That is part of why I wrote this. I mainly wanted to show how hard it is to be that woman and yet we still must try. I appreciate all of your kind words. Thanks again, my very dear friend

The past month I have been reading Psalm, and passed ninety this morning. David sure had a lot on his mind. As for favorite scriptures ... my scriptures look like a rainbow of colored markings, as people named are in purple, Jesus Christ is underlined in green, highlighted passages that touch my soul are yellowed, and red are marked as things that happen to those who don't follow His commands.

Very nice spiritual poem, Debi. I'm going to take a look at Proverbs. It's been awhile. The second stanza is really good, and the last line is outstanding.

Indeed, God is in everything you do, including your writing. I loved your rhymes. I do have a suggestion and is to stay on one line of thought. On the first stanza you talked about the proverb but then on the second and third you diluted it to generalizations on how God approves, new beginnings and how he is in your writing. Is a great poem though, I just suggest staying on one line of thought.

Thank you for your lovely review and comments. Yes I think you may be that I did away off topic but meant to show that although I strive to be the woman of proverbs 31, I fail because I tend to want to do things my way because I am human. However I do see what you?re saying and I appreciate your valuable feedback so much. I thank you also for the gracious gift of the stars. Thank you again, my friend.

Debi, I've tried numerous times in my life to read the Bible, each time I failed. I could not understand it. I'm not the brightest bulb in the box, you may say.

Like in the second stanza, your line where you say you live your life and turn your back on God? If one lives their life and still believes in God how does that make them a bad person? What am I missing? I'm confused?

See it's not your poem, it's me. Your poem is wonderfully written and written from the heart. That can see!

Cheers and confused...
John

It is not unusual to not understand the Bible. I have even bought my husband a youth one and he still doesn't get it. But he does believe and that is what is most important. My poem does bounce around a little. What I am saying in the second stanza is that I am not the perfect example of the Proverbs 31 poem, because I tend to follow my own way and make my own decisions too often. However, I do try to be that woman and God forgives because He sees my heart. Nobody is perfect and so I am not saying I am bad, but I turn my back on what I should be doing because I am human. Paul says it best when he says,
"For what I want to do, I do not do, but what I hate, is what I do. And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me."
That is one of the great men of the Bible who wrote that.
I know a little confusing but I am sure you get the point. God knows a willing heart. Believe me, I am not saint, but I do try.

Thanks my dear friend for your dear comments. I love that you asked, but afraid that Paul and I aren't the best teachers. lol.

I've never read or studied the proverbs. We mostly focused on psalms which we chanted and reflected upon. Bashing Babylonion babies against the walls never made sense to me. I do love a few of the psalms though. Ps.139 is about recognizing who guide us.

A lovely interpretation of Proverbs 31. I particularly like the final stanza, especially turning over the reigns to God each time we write. That's a great reminder. God's grace is new every morning, as you mentioned in the second stanza. That's good for us! Blessings. Carol

Amen! What a great message and now I see why you said we were on the same page as I thought the revival theme was so different from Proverbs 31 but you wrote about how we miss that high example of that Proverbs 31 woman. It always depressed me to read that chapter! It seems an insurmountable model to achieve so I never liked it. But you showed us that it's all about giving the "reins to God" and may He be glorified in all we do including our writing.

Helen, I thank you so very much for the very kind review for my Proverbs poem..
yes, we are on the same page with the Proverbs 31 reaction. I know I am not capable of being that woman, and that is why I wrote on God I turn my back, because too often I do forget to pray about His will. However, I mainly wanted to show how hard it is to be that woman and yet we still must try.

I appreciate all of your kind words. Thanks again, my very dear friend. Love, Debi

But I do find it wonderful and I love it when I pray for Him to guide my writing. There are times that I try to write my own thing after praying about it and there is no way that can happen. God takes over and that is that. LOL.
