Excellent one. Love the image, also the words and play on "uplifting" as well as the clever alliteration. It all works beautifully. Best wishes for the contest. It will be hard to beat this one.

I love your poetic devices here: alliteration (hummingbird/hovers) and imagery (iridescent wingbeats) and the theme (uplifting beauty). Very nice short poem. Thanks for sharing.

It's so nice to see you show up in my message box, Lisa May. I've caught a couple of your blind contest wins (congratulations), but it's been ages since I've gotten a fan notification of something you've posted. I hope you're doing well.
I enjoyed your haiku very much. I was taken immediately by the photo, and your words describe it beautifully. I particularly enjoyed the phrase "iridescent wingbeats." Good luck in the contest.

This is a beautiful 3 line poem absolutely oozing colour and beauty! I love that very evocative 'wingbeats' and the dual sense of your last line. Very skilfully expressed in this economic form. Well done and good luck! A strong contender! Debbie

I love the photographs you take and this one especially captured my eye. I love hummingbirds and their wingbeats as you call them are magnificent to see. Thank you for sharing your adept view of the world as seen through the eyes of a photographer.

It is uplifting to see those active birds! It's amazing that some even stay around in the winter. Good use of alliteration and assonance and enjoyed the "iridescent wingbeats. Best wishes in the contest!

There seem to be many "three line stars" out there! One gets better than the other as I review them. My wife loved hummingbirds and I'm glad you offered us this eloquent little tribute to them!

This is a wonderful poem for the three line poetry contest. I wish you the very best in the contest. I also want to wish you a good evening and a good month of December to finish off the year. Patricia.
