There are jewelry pins that are created as a dragonfly.

Dragonflies become adults after five years of maturity. The wings are long and highly creative. Popular creatures.

I like the way your words and the stunning visual image work together to convey a sense of the transitory, as does the opening word "flitting". We get a sense that we're capturing a very brief snapshot of time that encourages us to reflect on our own mortality, much as we reflect on that of the dragonfly. Beautifully written.
