Your characters make this story fun to read. I never that what Miranda may say or do. The Carrie is interesting too. She has a good sense of humor and easygoing. I love the conversation between Mitch and Miranda about the bar where she wants to go look for her friends husband.

This is a powerful story Gretchen and I am glad I have never met anyone capable of murder and such wicked violence. I'm glad she is opening up with Carrie who seems to have the right sort of personality for Miranda. It will be interesting to see what transpires at the club. I always enjoy these chapters in particular Miranda's down to earth style of speaking, always says it as she sees it. Well done.
