This is nice and has a lot of atmosphere, however, it isn't a story. A story has something happen that makes a change. This is a scene as two warriors meet amid Christmas festivities and congratulate themselves on having survived the war.

I read about the origin of the song that inspired this story and it said that one of the men in Abba was laying down looking up at the stars and the story came into his head. I guess it's not a typical Christmas story but it is what it is. Good luck.

What a very original and enjoyable take on this Christmas story brief! Love the atmosphere you created here and that meeting of two old soldiers discussing their scars and war stories from the Mexican Revolution. All done over a couple of bottles of tequila with memories of that particular Christmas when their own lives were saved. Nicely done, Jim and a strong contender. Good luck! Debbie.

Sometimes I feel there is nothing so precious to individuals today that they would be willing to fight for it.

Participating in a protest rally is not the same thing. Those who do, seem to think they are doing something really important. It is not like putting your life on the line for something you love, as many patriots do.
