Isn't it amazing how pets have an amazing ability to heal...
Mumba, does appear to be extra special and that is probably because she was so very loved.
The most difficult thing is when they are not longer here.

What a sad story!

I am moved by your poem in memory of your lovely pet. Pets are good, they never fight with you, they bring only love to you and your family.

Thanks for sharing

Two souls in need of each other here and the coming together of companionship. An intuitive connection made just when it was needed Debbie. A fine well rhymed and metered sonnet to soothe and quell loneliness. Much enjoyed, love Dolly x

Thank you for sharing this story of this wonderful dog/friend who came to help your husband during his time of great need. Dogs have that ability and I'm so sorry that he was killed in an accident like that. I loved your moving ending of "your soul lives on within the man you freed." Our furry friends live on in us.

Yes, he's at home definitely a little whippet dog. Since we connect on them on such a level that it's not possible with it.
I'm there an unintentional love that's a beautiful thing. I'm sorry, sorry you really doubt it was lost but no, he has you and little dogs watching from heaven. You're fine entry lovely poem a great submission to hope you have an awesome night!

It is especially sad to lose a beloved pet to an accident. It helps soothe our grief when we recall the wonderful times spent together and how our efforts help change our adopted animals life for the good. At times you can actually see their love for us deep within their eyes. A lovely sonnet, Debbie.

A well-crafted and moving sonnet, Debbie, that resonates deeply with me.
I have loved so many special dogs and cats in my life. All have touched my heart in life in so many ways.
Of particular was a chubby tabby named "Dickens" = yes, as in Charles...
Whenever I was ill or feeling blue, Dickens was always by my side.
Most of all, he loved to be in the gardens with me - especially in patches of violets... I miss him dearly.
Thank you for sharing!

Some dogs do seem to be that little bit extra special, like Mumba. He arrived when he was most needed it seems. A lovely Sonnet Debbie about a very special dog. Beautifully presented. Cheers

Debbie,
Gotta select the SIX for this. Well-written, nicely rhymed, creatively put together. But, mostly, us dog lovers utterly connect, and your "notes" are moving too.

Sad and poignant post about love and loss
I wrote one about two cardinals with a similar tragic end.
Some of us love animals and think their lives are always important too
Thanks for this touching piece
