This is good, very good. Emma has hit the wall with things going wrong, but she is showing wonderful resilience. I wasn't sure she had it in her. As far as children of addicts, a couple of mine had problems in school but are both very successful in their lives in every way.

Those children can be successful. I added that because a reviewer told that wasn't possible. Thank you for the kind review.

A great chapter .Peggy is a.nuisance and shameless. Hope that is the end of her interference. EMMA has to be strong .when one is surrounded by love one can overcome any issues..

I've just read both chapters, and they were great! You've opened many eyes, I should think, about pregnant women and drugs. I've heard of some babies having withdrawal symptoms after birth. At least Emma is fine. I hope she starts believing Seth about how he hates Peggy coming on to him. She's cooked her goose now, though! Well done. :) Sandra xx

This was a good post, lots of things happening here, but you juggled it well. Seth seems to have picked up the pieces with Emma, he makes a strong shove against Barton, getting her arrested, and obviously seems to be making a strong play for Emma. We also get all these details about the difficult childhood she had, the hard facts of her mother's life, and a clue as to her strong need to fend for herself. There's lots of emotion surging under the dialogue, I thought it was crisp and tense at times, there was a great suspenseful moment when she has a hard time opening the door and we get all her fears after dealing with the guy who attacked her. A complicated chapter, but a good one. estory

Paster Pat and Seth are very protective of Emma. I never had that. She is lucky so many people love her.

Peggy is such a hateful woman. I'm happy Seth finally put her in her place.

Seth and Emma are getting very close and intimate. I can't wait for their first kiss. LoL

I appreciate your writing talent. Well done!

Sadly, there are so many of these young mothers on the streets struggling to survive and take care of babies. Their options slim, as are the babies current and future prospects. Thanks for sharing. Happy Thanksgiving.

How was Peggy cuffed with a casserole and suitcase in her hands? You may want to address that.

A very good chapter, Barbara. I just love the way your dialogue moves through the story. There could be more sensory detail, but I do really enjoy the dialogue. I'm glad that Emma and Seth are talking and setting the record straight on things.

See you next week. Have a lovely holiday.

Beth, this was an excellent chapter which explained a lot and made the actions and reactions of the characters quite reasonable. Peggy B will of course be furious but man, she has cheek! Offering to share.... And then calling Emma a slut! And she has obviously broken the law herself searching through his desk. Well written.

This is an excellent chapter. It was interesting from beginning to end. Thanks for letting me know it was not a full chapter. When you do that the end of the first part is a little flat.I do not see any room for improvement. Have a blessed day.
