It might have been better for your friend's Mother to have seen the stare you were in and how much you needed attention. Anyway your story continues Lea as you escape the horror of abuse. It is my view that your Mother has also suffered at the hands of your Stepfather Lea, I cannot believe that he has not been controlling with her too. Perhaps she has had to navigate his bad temper and tried to keep the peace. I am just talking as an outsider looking in.
You are entitled to tell your story Lea and if people feel ashamed, then they will have to live with their own demons. I hope you life is going to improve now that you in the sanctuary of your friend's home. Perhaps the healing begins here.
