Your excellent flash fiction sums up, for me, everything that is wrong with warfare. Because innocents like this are scarred forever before they even begin to live their lives. The shrapnel wounds are symbolic of needless violence and the fear of dodging more shrapnel, the PTSD that will inevitably follow and undermine that generation for years to come. This is a virtual six from me. A superbly thoughtful and thought-provoking post. Good luck! Debbie

What a sad but powerful little piece of flash fiction. I found this very poignant and thought-provoking as children should not have to worry about such things. Good luck

It is a sad state of affairs when children can't be children. The want to play in snow and act their age, but instead that have to worry about whehter or not they will survive the day.
