Oma apparently considered what she did as a sin so in makes no sense that she was so active and insistant on everyone being in church and getting religious lectures. Was she sleeping with the bishop? I heard my father call me a street slut once to my mother. Never to my face. He didn't like me being in town after school. I certainly wasn't doing anything except going to my Uncle's cafe and waiting tables. One girl on this site's great-grandmother owned a brothal and hired her grandmother out to sleep with her customers. It's amazing things that go on in families. I don't understand how with this background your grandmother got so much respect and honors. It sounds as if she was trying to atone for her sins, but you said she was contiuning this behavior after you knew her. Surely she didn't approve of your stepfather's abuse? I'm too into your story. I dreamed about you last night. I met you abusive stepfather. LOL

Oh wow, Beth! My grandmother was a high up official person. Within social services, she could make her change a lot of things, and multiple children are different than she couldn't have any of that information come out. She couldn't have the fact that we were abused, come out with jeopardized her career and others in the family close it protect yourself. Jonathan, now she participated in the cover up of our abuse. Thank you, Beth, so happy to have you on board. I hope we're not disrupting your sleep pattern too much. You're curiosity, and you're kinda very refreshing, thank you again!

Our past shapes us Lea and you are right we cannot understand the present without understanding the past. At least being hit with a newspaper and being called a slut is mild compared to what you were used to with your Stepfather. Those religious teachings were enough to make you not want to believe, how awful that must have been as you were blamed for everything. I remember when I joined the Police and one Policeman said to me, all Policewomen are either Lesbians or Whores, which one are you? I was shocked and that was just the start of my education working in law enforcement. I never let it bother me though.

Our past shapes us Lea and you are right we cannot understand the present without understanding the past. At least being hit with a newspaper and being called a slut is mild compared to what you were used to with your Stepfather. Those religious teachings were enough to make you not want to believe, how awful that must have been as you were blamed for everything. I remember when I joined the Police and one Policeman said to me, all Policewomen are either Lesbians or Whores, which one are you? I was shocked and that was just the start of my education working in law enforcement. I never let it bother me though.

Hi Dolly! Thank you! People are stupid, half of them don't know what they're talking about, and half of the other half are sleeping on the job. Names can be devastating or minor compared to all the things I've seen names to see think I cannot deal with. Ill Walk away and not give them the time of day ever again.
