This is a good story illustrating why someone shouldn't become friends with aliens. She made sure they were never parted. They also both died in the same accident. Very good story.

I really enjoyed this story! You communicated both characters' emotions so convincingly that I was really drawn into the story and was genuinely saddened when the feathers erupted from the jet. The only improvement to make is to fix three minor spelling errors - "elegant", "me" instead of my, and "escarpment". This is a compelling piece which prompts a lot of further questions. Is there any possibility for a prequel and possibly a sequel? Thanks so much for sharing.

I read this post and experienced the deep emotion of one who had to leave a precious relationship such as this. it was a heartfelt action that occurred and a very emotional plea to stay from a creature who experienced a true connection. Extremely well done.

And perhaps that's where Heaven, I had a brief taste of heaven and all its unknown emotion and perception, and it's like that, floating in a sea of wonder, nothing else means much, once tasted, never forgotten. A most imaginative post G, blessings Roy

This is a very haunting and atmospheric tale that hooked me instantly. Your skilful prose immerses the reader into your fantasy tale about a love affair with a fabulous other-worldly creature that we quickly realise must come to an end if the narrator is not to die. As it is, the story ends with both dying and yet the prospect that they might still meet again in another universe. Beautifully told! Debbie

This is such a poignant and beautiful story, G and so very well told, as always. The emotions are the same, though thee two that are different species. And, who knows? Great story, I loved this one G.

What came to my mind as this story devolved, was the song, "What you won't do for love. You try everything, but you don't give up." She loved him too much, so much so in fact that she was willing to die, and to apparently kill him as well.

I was swept away from earth, and placed on another planet, faced with an unimaginable love story. A beautiful bird, described as a "magnificent creature" with a humanoid face, falls in love with a human who must leave her. This story is compelling and creative.

"Go?" she said, ("Go? she asked)

The wing of ''she" was a wonderful picture, Giraffmang. The story was almost terrifying. By almost the 'he' was determined that 'he' should be home, his time was up. The 'she' begged him not to go. Then 'she' flew into him. It was her time. Very well done and greatly enjoyed. Blessings n Peace!!!

Hi Gareth, what a bittersweet story and so wonderfully written. His biggest mistake was to fall helplessly in love with this beautiful and alien creature. If he stayed he was doomed and, as he tried to leave, both their fates were sealed. So very tragic. Ulla:)))
