These chapters read so effortlessly, Lea, and this is another fine one, rich in evocative detail. You're surviving well and have a wealth of commonsense upon which to draw. The rainfall is a welcome gift and you convey huge satisfaction from this, drawing perhaps on all those household duties you once had to perform. Also, of course, the art of making a fire and drying out. But loneliness is an understandable issue and you're prepared to risk possible danger in order to get to the source of the party, albeit having to quickly escape. There are some small edits perhaps: "I could see puddles of water pooling together (you don't need "collecting together" afterwards); bushes "calvering" (not sure what is meant there?). But your stories are fully engaging, aided by excellent dialogue and good pace and momentum. Thanks for sharing, Lea. Debbie

This is mesmerizing. Your survival skills are impressive, but you retain that "Still Just A Kid" facet, choosing to tempt Fate and investigate the party in the woods. I liked that a lot...albeit mostly because you were able to avert disaster.
Also, the Alphaghetti just slays me. Twenty-one consecutive meals of Alphaghetti!! Oy. That's a huge indicator of how bad you did NOT want to go home!! You were willing to have an uninterrupted diet of THAT? lol
Another great chapter, Lea. And thank you for writing these every day. If I had to wait a week between installments, the anticipation would leave me quite surly!!

You got yourself clean from the rain and the had to rub dirt all over yourself again to hide the party people who were chasing you. I guess the finally gave up. You are very resourceful. I wonder if I could make it in a situation like that. That is like a game I used to play by myself when I was a kind. I ingained I was living alone in a forest and trying to survive off the land. I was an only child and had to make up my own entertainment and that one was favorite I played every chace I got. You did it for real.

Although my time, there was blessedly free of one way replaced with several smaller ones, but it is what it is. You can't stay in the Bush forever April to October.
