Great writing as usual. The characters are starting to infiltrate my brain now - or am I infiltrating their lives through your writing skills. Excellent stuff. And a bit of a cliffhanger too. X

Hello Gretchen,
I like the way you write: descriptive but not too overbearing. The scenes are believable and the characters seem real. It's always fun to read you work. Thanks for sharing.
Have a blessed evening.

I love your description of Preston and immediately look forward to seeing more of him. Mr. Starling is rather interesting also. How is she ever going to tell Rita her husband is a hound dog?

Your story is moving along with great pace. Miranda is doing a bit of self-talk to try and recover her equilibrium and all is going quite well. The carnations are a surprise ( note "Did they put the (?) in the cup or did you?") and Preston is not as much of a pain as anticipated and even quite astute when he points out the suspicious man by the dumpster. We end on a note of suspense with Miranda still in the dark as to what's going on. Nicely done, Gretchen. Looking forward to the next chapter. Debbie

Ahh now what is going on? It sounds like there's a little stalking going on at the moment. Miranda is behaving all tough, but really she's been shaken by the developments Preston might be useful after all, beautifully written Gretchen, blessings Roy.

Nicely written.
"Did they put the in the cup or did you?" - (them?)
Don't be so quick to dismiss boogeymen. They are out there for sure.
Best wishes.

Ooooo, that's creepy. I felt a tingle down my spine as I read it. This doesn't bode well, and I'm glad she has Preston with her. Maybe his basketball will come in handy.

All that freaking out over having to have Preston there when she working and she decided he's a cute kid and they will get along just fine. It is obvious she doesn't want anything thinking she has a soft side. The guy by the dumpster is something left hanging the air to make us want to know more.

Scary as it might sound, there is someone watching all of most of the time. Many times it's innocent, but on that rare occasion when it isn't, we need to stay aware. We live in a weird world. :-) Thanks for sharing.

Indeed we do live in a weird world. It does seem a little unsettling when you catch someone staring at you. Thanks for this. Gretchen
