This rondelet is very clever because of that repeat line that demonstrates sadly that, with war, there is no end. Your words are simply and beautifully expressed so that the whole pointlessness and devastation of war are revealed in all it poignancy. Lovely unforced rhyming too. This is excellent! Well done and good luck! Debbie

If there is any way the devastation of "war" can be described in beautifully, poetic terms, your words have accomplished just that. Thank you for your inspiring review. John

The use of the words "A war begins..." is very effective. It makes the reader stop and think of the hatred and greed that explodes into violence and war, but it also reminds us of the devastation it causes, not just to the victims of war, but to spiritual scars to those remaining. Very well done.

This is a wonderful poem that paints a picture of unimaginable horror. How could people cause such terrible pain and death just to claim they are somehow more worthy than others?

I think that's about the best explanation I've read for the senseless death and suffering caused by war. I appreciate your review and insightful comments.

There is never a time for war. But you wrote well and with feeling. War never settles anything really. War is mainly because of greed. And bullying. All of this is exhibited everywhere. You would think we would wise up by now. No such luck. Karen

I guess if the Bible says so, there must be a time for everything, but I'll never understand a reason for war and hate; although, there has been since the beginning of time. Thanks for sharing.

I agree. War and hate has been with us since the beginning of time. Given the events of the last few days, it doesn't appear that much has changed. I appreciate your review.

Powerful and well written Rondelet reflecting yet another horror unleashed on the world this week. One can't explain such hatred and evil, and one is devastated because it is still the innocent ones who suffer and die. Best wishes for your entry.

Very well said, Wendy. I believe justice may not be served here on earth; but, rest assured, it WILL served. Thank you for your review and best wishes.

This is so darn good. The rest of us are playing for place or show in this contest. Perfectly timely, emotional and dramatic. All great except war of course. "When sorrow floats on darkened winds" is a really fine line of poetry. You made the most of the rondelet.

Thank you for your kind review. I appreciate your positive comments and especially the sixth star.

This rondelet, A Time of War, focuses on the state of war that now exists between Israel and Hamas. I find it curious that Israel's security was so badly compromised since Trump flaunted so much top-secret defense information for months with who knows who.

That's what happens when politicians conduct a war from the Whitehouse. You can go all the way back to Vietnam to see the results. And we didn't learn a thing from that debacle. Thanks for your review.

So attuned with the problems faced by the people of Palestine and Israel. I hope they find peace and a way to conclude this senseless killing. If only there was a way to compromise. I keep praying for peace.

You used the right word...'senseless.' I'm not sure there will ever be lasting peace un the Middle East. But after all, hope springs eternal and we can always hope. I appreciate your review.

You have reflected the horror of war very well with this excellent Rondelet and alarming picture. It is a powerful entry in the Rondelet contest. I also appreciate that you included an appropriate verse of Scripture.
Best wishes!

I agree. The Biblical reference is most appropriate and sets the stage for the most dangerous place this world has found itself in in many years. Given the combatants, this war could have serious consequences for an already precarious world. I appreciate your insightful review.
