Things are getting dangerous. I hope Echo isn't going anywhere alone for a while with the threatening photos showing that that killer has his eye on her. Let's hope she isn't next. What a way to put a damper on the holidays. Yikes.

Hi Debi!! Thanks for the beautiful 6 stars. You are so very generous!!
Echo is going to try to stay out of trouble, but trouble is hot on her heals, for sure!!
Also, it's about to take a turn to fantasy pretty soon!!

A very good chapter, Rhonda, that follows well from the previous one and links to what Bessie had said to Echo. It also ties the beginning to the end of the chapter. In between tense moments, an office Christmas party is taking place, but there are undertones of jealousy there, too, as far as Sara Beth is concerned. Echo paid her little mind, and that was a good thing.

It is a shame that Echo had to see those pictures, but whoever put them there, knew what he/she was doing. What better way, in that person's mind, to keep the murder and its consequences fresh in Echo's mind. Then as other guests arrived, things had to be nerve wracking for Echo.

The ending was suspenseful with the appearance of Officer Bradley, especially when he didn't seemed dressed like an officer unless he was an undercover cop. You continue to build the suspense as Echo is thinking about all of the strange happenings during the day, and then looked at this man's eyes, and Brian asks a very direct question. I will be interested to see how this scene plays out. Well done, my friend.

Thank you so much for the wonderful review, Pam. You hit on my major points, which is good, because that means the content came through.

Yes, the serial killer knows exactly how to play the mind games he needs for trying to gain control, but Echo has a few tricks he isn't aware of.

Brian has a very direct nature, in spite of his kidding around with Echo. He'll find Officer Bradley his match on that.

Thanks again for all your support,
    Rhonda

Ulla, my dear friend, thank you for the beautiful 6 stars. You are very generous! I will definitely try to post more often. I teach 6 different subjects at my school, and sometimes get bogged down, lol.

You're right on the intruder. He is more than he pretends to be.

Another fine chapter, Rhonda....one that goes to show you you can't trust anybody anymore. And, that Echo may be getting more than she bargained for this Christmas

OMGosh! This guy could be the serial killer and he's at the Christmas party? Lord have mercy, he's bold. Serial killers are bold and Echo and the staff every right to be on guard. It's someone very close to them, for sure. A thrilling chapter, my friend.

Typo: Impala.

Sending you my best today as always and blessings for your day.

    Hi Sally,
I appreciate you're sweet 6 stars!! They brighten up my day.

Things are about to get pretty different for Echo and her lifestyle. She should have been playing her cards closer to her chest, lol.

    Love and hugs,
    Rhonda

This story is developing beautifully, Rhonda, and to say I'm hooked would be an understatement! The discovery of her photograph in the envelope is excellently done, first describing a woman in a red dress so that the reader is not immediately spoon-fed but is able to think for themselves. We knew things were going to heat up for Echo and you've skilfully kept up the pace and excitement in your story. Echo is beginning to understand just how great those risks now are to her safety. Small edit: "They're sending an office(r) over" Great job here and I'm looking forward to reading more! Debbie x

I love the way you are creating drama and mystery in this story. I always enjoy stories like this and am anxious to learn more. Echo has good reason to be afraid after recieving the pictures.

They're sending an office over (officer)

    Hi Beth,
Thanks for reading my chapter! I am trying to get the crime aspect without going too overboard as I?m trying to work my way to the fantasy aspect of the book.

The author has clearly put a lot of work into this book. However, she hasn't though enough about credibility and the causal linkage between events. Her story jumps sometimes from point to point, and sometimes treats with trivial expressions or dismissals things that are dark and need more serious development and language. I think the author needs to develop a more sophisticated sense of crime writing, which can of course be found through more extensive reading. Her ideas are promising.

That's a great way to end an episode. Our heroine is looking her possible demise in the face, as it were, you've got a great plot going on here dear Rhonda, you've got a real adventure, with a sense of peril, beautifully written Rhonda, well done, blessings Roy

    Hi Roy,
Thank you so much for keeping up. I had a chapter most missed because it got misposted, but I think most were able to bridge the gap.
Echo has definitely been careless, that's for sure and things are about to take a sharp turn.

    Take care,
