I like the swing in this write, finding the used ingredients delighting to Halloween upcoming, capturing the monsters that patrol that special night. I would read this to young kids. All views stated in my opinion.

This is a good idea for a Halloween poem as it seems to cover practically all of the possible frightening monsters that might turn up. Your idea of an eight/seven line beat is good but some of your lines would have read better out loud if you had opted for an eight/six beat rhythm. For example, the second line in the second stanza sounds better to me as 'love chasing mice all year' rather than 'through the year'. Also, you have used 'year' and 'around' as end rhymes twice - I would have tried to avoid this repetition. Having said all of that I do like this poem so good luck in the contest

Another winner, obviously! Beautifully structured with jaunty rhythm and assured rhyme. Well done. You touch on every Halloween staple here. (I just wonder if the last line should be 'cause everyone elation'?)
