I never knew a group of herons was called a siege.
A lovely poem and a lovely picture. It created a feeling of peace for me. For some reason the picture of the reeds on the bottom just mesmerized me.
When you get a chance read "Murphy's Jaw" it's funny and short. Karen

I like your haiku poem - excellent picture presentation- poem has good flow - thanks for the notes- good syllable count and connection- only suggestion I might have would be to drop (is) not necessary and makes flow even better? See what you think - Good Job - AP

The great blue heron is such a beautiful bird and always so patient and looks deep in reflection, totally unmoving. I wonder what "siege" he left behind but I like the "knee-deep in sorrow."

The siege of heron migrated and left him behind. Sometimes migrate Sometimes not. I declare poetic license. LoL
